Cleartrip is the airline and hotel booking website owned by Flipkart, which recently suffered a severe data breach in its internal system. Though they emailed their customer stating that some personal details were a part of the leak, no sensitive data of their customers have been compromised so far. They also said that they have approached the concerned authorities and filed a legal complaint as per the law. They have asked the customers to reset their passwords as a precautionary measure. Walmart-owned Flipkart earned a 100% stake in Cleartrip in 2021.
Surprisingly, this is not the first time that Cleartrip has suffered a hacking attack. In 2017, a group named Turtle Squad hacked its website and defaced it for a few minutes.
Their Email to the customers is as follows:
We hope you are well.
