Introduction

As civilization advances, people develop technology for their convenience. In the 21st century, the advancement of technology has reached its pinnacle as Artificial Intelligence improves and simplifies our quality of life. Each second humans have been trying to gain more and more paths to make the world easier using technology. A small living example of that is – AI Chatbot.

I hope you have already met your Google Assistant. "It's your own personal Google, always ready to help whenever you need it."

One day I thought to ask it how the world will end.

Surprisingly, the answer came from that side.

It was written, "Scientists haven't reached a consensus on this one yet so I can't be sure, but I have a feeling we still have plenty of time to watch cat videos on YouTube."

A bunch of questions ran through my head. Who answered so fast? How could it be possible?

Then I started my research and came to know it was a virtual assistant 24x7 powered by Artificial Intelligence. Simply called a chatbot! Today I am going to describe this chatbot in detail.

What is a Chatbot? How many types of Chatbots are there?

What is a Chatbot? A Chatbot is programming that stimulates the conversation between a human and a robot or virtual assistant through text or voice interaction by using Artificial Intelligence and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to understand clients' questions and generate a response to them. This robot is trained by a dataset of human conversations. Hence, it gains popularity due to its amazing features that make each work convenient for the user.

Chatbots are classified into two types.

Rule-Based Chatbot

It works as an interactive FAQ (Frequently Answered Questions). Hope you have seen the FAQ section on websites where pre-defined questions are written to solve your doubts. These Rule-Based Chatbots also work the same. This means codes are written here in such a way as to analyze certain terms and patterns from which they can reply with pre-set answers. Therefore, this bot is very limited as it can respond to only specific commands without knowing what customers need.

AI-Based Chatbot

This is an advanced Chatbot that not just works on command but also understands customers' language and expressions. Hence, it gains popularity from time to time as it can understand users' intent, and queries and has real-time solving power with accurate answers. This bot gets smarter gradually as it learns from conversations with new people. Google Home, Alexa, and Apple's Siri are the best examples.
